I read the reviews, considered the source and complaints, then ordered. Was I happy, you bet. Added 1/2 cup dried milk to 2 cups water in the blender, mixed, added the rest of the water and was done. Strained it to be certain all was mixed, no lumps. Taste was the same as I remembered of fresh skimmed milk from the dairy case(after drinking UHT processed milk). Cheaper, better taste, and a lot more commodious than buying UHT. Most persons don’t realize that powdered milk and instant powdered milk are two dissimilar products, one being a low temperature process and the other a high temperature process, and the instant is like over-cooked, changed taste, but easy to mix.

Thats the disturb with UHT (ultra high temp) milk. Just don’t taste like fresh milk.

I actually like the taste of this dry milk.I use it since I’m lactose intolerant. However, it’s really difficult to mix.

i tried a whisk as per the instructions, but eventually had to resort to a blender. Other than this drawback, it’s really good.

Maybe it’s posing no difficulty to mix because I only do a glass at a time, but it really isn’t difficultness I just stir it briskly with a spoon, smoosh a couple lumps, and it’s good to go on my cereal. So don’t be put off by that because this makes the name-brand stuff seem tasteless. It’s much creamier, smells like real milk, and a bargain at that costly I’ll be buying it again.

I purchased this milk for making mozzarella, ricotta, and paneer cheese (which it does very well) and have ended up using it for everything. I mix up a quart at a time in a blender for each day drinking and add a tablespoon or two of heavy cream. A hint for mixing: put 1/2 the water in the blender, add the milk powder and pulse blend a few times before adding the remaining water. Once blended, it may be very foamy. Stir cream in with a spoon and allow to sit in the fridge for a day before decanting into a glass bottle.

I like it is I prepare a drink with 2/3rds cup of water, 3 tablespoons of powdered milk, 3 tablespoons of no calorie vanilla syrup, and five ice cubes. Put it in my Hamilton Beech mixer and come up with a thick shake. Good source of calcium. My latest bone density test showed an improvement over the one I had done three years ago. I will carry on to buy this item.

We get a case of this milk every month, for yogurt making and baking. For yogurt I use it 1:3 with water instead of 1:7 as recommended. We strain the yogurt afterward, but it’s already nice and firm when it’s introductory made. The taste is rich and creamy–excellent!

Two warnings. This is not instant milk. It’s a very fine powder. So don’t dump it into a bowl–it will disperse in the air and get everywhere. And when mixing, use vigorous whisking or a blender, as others have said. So measure conservatively and gently, and mix well. It’s unquestionably worth it.

Second, this milk is not fortified with vitamin D like fluid milk is. Plenty of calcium, but if you are viewing your vitamin D, specially in winter here in the dark north land, make sure you have other sources and are becoming numerous sun.

Those are the only drawbacks we’ve found. There isn’t much savings over liquid organic milk (if any) at our local prices. But the flavor is great, it doesn’t take up room in your fridge, and the shelf life is great.

Blending gives a very nice, smooth consistency.

Without the need for scalding and then cooling the milk, this is a very easy process. We make all our own yogurt now.

I make my own yogurt. I use 2 cups of Bob’s RedMill Powdered milk with a gallon of milk and a little carton of plain yogurt for the starter from the grocery store. The powdered milk makes my homemade yogurt set up and get thick. Yogurt is heat sensitive, a temp of regarding 100 degrees for 5-6 hours incubates the yogurt.

We purchased 2 54 count boxes of Starbucks Pike Place Roast Coffee K-Cups not long back and were very happy with the quality. The wait for Starbucks K-Cups was well worth it is However our next order will be from Sam’s Club as they have 54 count boxes for $38.99, in regards to $12 fewer than amazon.

Bought this blend for my sister when she came to visit. She was happy with it, but we are left with assorted K-cups because she could not take them with her.

It is just too bland for us. We like bold dark roast coffee and also get our K-cups from Amazon. But since my sister liked Pike Place roast, I gave it five stars.

This is the perfect medium roast K-cup. The coffee never tastes burnt or watered down. It tastes just like it would if you ordered it at Starbucks. This coffee is just as good as the French Roast, but not as strong. I will continue to purchase these as they are the best K-cup I have tasted yet!

Love, love these K-cups. I’m a Starbucks junkie and at around 50 cents a K-cup I save tons on not going to my local Starbucks store and buying a caramel macchiato when I can make it myself at home!!! Now, if Fair Trade would just make K-cups then I’d be all set.

I really liked the Pikes Place Coffee but will not continue buying unless they become more competitory in their pricing.

I ordered this to replace a dying D-Link DGL-4500, the imagination one with the beauteous display on top. In general, this wireless router takes such a lot of of it’s queues from the D-Link DGL-4500 with regards to it’s web GUI for set-up and control. I found it gorgeous intimate and the language it uses alike or the same in galore places, so I understood how to set it up in my “unique” home networking environs rather quickly.

This made it a bit of a pain to have it assign specific DHCP IP addresses to devices on my network that rely on from the outside to the inside of my network communicating from various control apps, etc. I have to run around collecting hardware MAC addys for my devices. TrendNet listens to it’s users, and I’ve already called them and suggested a refinement. In the past when I’ve done this, they’ve genuinely come through via a firmware update which is pretty cool.

In Summary, the router is blazing fast, the wireless is stable and has a outstanding (subjective) range on both it’s N and G signals. I might now get to it from my neighbors house all over the street, I couldn’t do this with the old. My speedtests maintain a 8ms ping and 30d/4u mbps to my typical test server. I would knock off .5 star of the GUI stuff, and .5 star for the $ value equated to something fancy and blinged out such as my old 4500. I’m ok with function over form. I don’t think the added radio adds THAT much more to the cost; this router costs rather a bit more than what I could have just purchased another 4500 for.

Cons: Signal range not as good as other wireless router.

Pros:

Small, When utilized from close range or direct line of sight this router is blazing fast. I am using a Killer(tm) Wireless-N 1103 wireless card on my Alienware M17xR3 and I am connected at 450Mbps with the 5GHz band.

When I initial got this router I was a bit disappointed because the range wasn’t as good as my other router and I was only getting 5Mbps download speed, but all of that change once I received my new laptop which included an newer wireless card. The new laptop and upgraded wireless card improved the download speed dramatically. My internet and download speed are the most immediate every I only gave it a 4 because the range is somewhat fewer than the two year old router that it substituted replaced substituted are the Bigfoot Networks killer Network Manager test results.

The router seemed alright, but I couldn’t get the wireless transfer speed over 100Mbps, even even though it’s advertized as 450Mbps.

I have a Cisco router that I use in my office and my laptop connects at 450Mbps all the time, so I recognise the issue is the router, not my laptop. Also, I was only a few feet away from the router for the duration of testing.

I called TRENDnet and expended over an HOUR on the phone with two dissimilar reps. After verifying that all the settings were correct, they advised me to return the router to where I bought it and buy a different brand. I asked to speak to a supervisor three times and each time they refused. They would put me on hold and come back a few minutes later, but not get the supervisor.

I just want to be clear in regards to that: A Trendnet aid rep told me to return the router and buy a different brand and constantly refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Not only did the router critically below perform, but their tech assist was the worst I’ve came across in a long time! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!

One of the missing pieces in these reviews is what kind of computers clients are using. It would be helpful includeake model and some basic hardware specs, in particular with regard to clients who had poor experiences. Were they using apple pc’s or maybe older engineering science like an old eMachine with too little RAM or incompatible wireless card drivers. There are so a good deal of possiblenesses for equipment not to work, operator head space and timing being the number one reason in my experiences. Of course client service aid desks located in foreign countries with workers reading from if/then canned troubleshooting procedures is an obvious problem as well. Not certain if this company is doing that, but anyone who has called a company client service number more than once has likely reached an individual who doesn’t inevitably have command of the english language.

What a Router this Baby SCREAMS SPEED!!!!! The wireless speed is just aweinspiring when paired with TEW-684UB and TEW980MB. The speed is the same as wired connections. When looking at a video streaming there is no lag, instant playing of the video. Netflicks loads faster and streams without a hipcup. I never thought a wireless connection could be this good. I have become a TRENDnet 5 star fan!!!!! If you like to stream this is the router you want!!!!!

solid router for a swell pricey I hooked this in parallel with the Apple airport express and now my home has a vast network

Very happy with the performance, particularly the dual-band job my TV and TiVo connected right up at 5 GHz, while everything else runs at 2.4 GHz. It only supports one LAN (although multiple SSIDs). I set up one “open” SSID, and then one with WPA2 for my own devices. As close to plug-and-play as it gets, after I entered the crucial WAN port configuration. Recommended.

I chose this router because of its feature and costly I have a 2Wire Gateway from ATT that has a built-in wireless router, so figured it’ll be unmanageable to setup. At first, when I connected it to the 2Wire Gateway, it connected through a wired computer without an issue, but of course, the wireless share had to be configured. I tried the setup “Wizard”, followed all instructions, but lost all internet connections (that’s why I gave it a four).

So I followed the following manual steps and they worked for me. Maybe these steps cam aid someone here.

1. I made certain the Trendnet router was set up through a wired computer (this is important).

2. In regard to my 2Wire Gateway (it may be different with other modems), I introductory had to find the IP address assigned to the Trendnet router. I basi accessed the 2Wire interface by using the 192.168.1.254 address and brought up the IP address of all connected devices. I then connected the Trendnet router to the 2Wire and noted the new device IP address, which had to be the Trendnet router’s IP address.

3. I configured the 2Wire to grant all traffic through DMZ to the new IP address and then disabled the wireless internet transmission from the 2Wire Gateway.

4. Since I already had tried the wizard without any success, I reset the Trendnet router to factory’s default. There’s a small hole on the side for this aim or you can use the router’s interface beneath the Administrator tab. Once it rebooted, I again had wired internet connection.

5. I accessed the router’s interface by using 192.168.10.1 address, entered login selective information data for both, name and password), clicked the 2.4GHz link, assigned a name next to Wireless Name (SSID) and them clicked Apply (left everything else as default).

6. Clicked the Security link, chose the Security Mode (Wep-Auto in my case) and then assigned a security key to Key 1, which will be the Default Key. I employed ten digit numbers.

7. Clicked Apply and chose to reboot the router. Once I had enter the password (default is admin), the router was back in line.

8. I tried connecting a wireless PC, entered the security key chosen on step 6 above and just like that I was routing through the internet ( I followed steps 5 through 7 to configured the 5GHz wireless transmission. I clicked the 5GHz link of course)

9. To make sure my network is secured I clicked the Administrator tab, click the Management link and change the default password (admin).

10. I used Speakeasy Speed-Test to test the internet speed…it’s working just fine.

I like to watch movies, and I have a actually nice TV for doing this. Streaming movies from the web to my PC was lame because I only have a 19″ LCD, but they look outstanding with this product on my TV. Netflix streaming through my PS3 was genuinely poor quality equated to the browser based one as well. I as well like that I may put together a slide show of my pictures and let the entire family view it on the TV which having to crowd around my computer to see them on my monitor. The best percentage is the ability to be doing something else on my regular monitor while the the TV shows the movie/youtube/pictures at the same time.

I ordered my LINK on Pre-order on Friday Aug 28th. I set it up in my bedroom attached to a 52″ Samsung 720P HDTV. The configured was easy; quick reminder, plug the dongle in first, before turning on the adapter unit attached to the TV. Once I did that, I changed the source input on my HDTV with my TV remote to the alternative HDMI port. There on my TV screen was my laptops desktop image. I chose duplicate mode instead of the default of extended mode in the popup window. That way my TV’s effigy mirrored my Laptops screen. I didn’t have to do any configuration to make the dongle connect, so it was easy to get going.

I brought up Google, then numerous news sites. Looked great. I then went to YouTube and Hulu and watched galore video. All looked and sounded very good.

I have since utilized Skype to video call my daughter. It was a dissimilar experience. Instead of this tiny effigy on my 13″ laptop, she was full sized on my TV, with the sound coming from the TV’s speakers.

I bought the Link because I wanted a simple way to watch frequent Internet video, Hulu TV shows or Netflix up on my TV using my laptop. I wanted something easy to set up that didn’t make me learn new software or purchase a media server. What I like is that I may use the PC applications or visit web sites I am already familiar with but watch up on my big TV instead of my little laptop screen. Likewise, I can give the dongle to my son, and he can use his MAC with the Link and connect to the TV whether or not he wants poisonous

Very fun product to have in my living room. Not only have we been observing on line videos from shows we missed or on youtube, but also looking at pictures and home movies stored on our computer. It was very relaxing to not have to huddle around a small screen, and we can all take pleasure in watching on our huge TV as a group and family. Definitely worth it for the $149. I have been waiting for a product like this!

The product was easy to install. I had one hiccup with full screen video not showing from such a good deal of online sites like hulu. I followed the manual which said to disable ‘hardware acceleration’ by right clicking on the video and it limited the troubles

EASY TO SET UP, WORKS GOOD, BUT THE DISTANCE ADVERTISED IS NOT ACCURATE, FOR BEST CONNECTION YOU CAN’T BE MORE THAN 16 STRAIGHT FEET.

I bought this primarily for use with my MacBook Pro. The driver for the product is supplied by DisplayLink. I installed the latest drivers for the product, and to the product and driver’s credit, the USB transmitter came up, connected to the receiver and showed a clear 1080P effigy on the screen. This was fine for use as “still” monitor, for example, showing a slide show, or web page, or the like. However, full movement video is extremely choppy and unwatchable. Fine, the manual says to switch it to 720P, but this resolution is unavailable on the Mac driver! The nearest available resolution is 1360×768. While this is a bit better, the video is still very choppy with A/V sync issues. I tried the release version of the driver, as well as the latest Beta driver, with no different result.

Just to eliminate all doubt, I installed Windows 7 using BootCamp on a partition, and installed the Windows drivers. These right away gave the correct choice of 1080P or 720P resolutions. At 720P the video was a tiny bit choppy but highly watchable at full resolution resolution 720P trailers on YouTube, full screen mode). No A/V sync troubles either.

I posted on the DisplayLink forum, but have received no answers in over a week. I have sent help mail to Imation, and that has been ignored as well. Go check out the DisplayLink Mac forum, and you will see that questions just go unanswered. The 1.6 version of the driver has been in Beta for a year now, and nowhere close to released There is a popular consensus in the board that the Mac product has all but been abandoned.

So, whether or not you are a Mac user, and all you want is still motion screens, this is fine. However, whether or not you are wanting to watch YouTube or Hulu or whatsoever in full screen mode, this just won’t work for you, sorry to say.

I gave it 2 stars because at least the still percentage works, and the Windows allocation works.

First thing first, this is my primary review of anything, but I felt so strongly about this product that I necessitated to break the chains of my product review laziness and portion the wealth. A little background on me..I am a apple fanatic, from the iphone, ipad, macbook etc. I watch alot of sports live feeds on my computer that I stream to my tv. I was a little skeptical with some of the reviews. I am never one to purchase a product right away. I constantly reseach, research, research, on occasion too much. After much deliberation, I decisive to try it out. And the verdict is….it is AWESOME. Set up was so simple a caveman could do it, the pirture quality is unbelievable, mac compatiability was amazing, and to top it all of look mom NO CORDS!!!! Now all I have to do when I want to watch my computer on the tv is modify the input. Overall, amazing product, swell service, and my new favored toy!

I have just received and set up the Imation Link Wireless A/V Extender on my Macbook Air running Lion.

Be conscious that you if you are running LION you need to download and install the modified dmg file directly from the imation website, the version included on the disc that ships with the unit will not work.

Once the dmg is installed the video portion streams fine

HOWEVER there is NO AUDIO available. After reading the FAQ on the Imation web site I realized that there was no option in my Macbook Air’s Preferences/Audio to select any other audio output other than the Macbook Air’s speakers. I called Imation aid and they confirmed that at the moment there is no assist for Audio streaming utilizing LION.

That’s a shame because I think this could be a outstanding product if they were to get that sorted out.

So to recap: As of October 18, 2012 there is no streaming Audio support for this product if you are running LION.

I had high hopes for this item but after various efforts to install it on a couple of laptops I was unsuccessful. The closest I got was to see my desktop on the TV but the computer “froze” at that point. After I rebooted I could not get the display on the TV again. I tried it on a DELL M4600 laptop and a DELL Studio XPS laptop, both with NVidia graphics cards with no success. In fact, my XPS experienced the screen flashing problem that was reported by somebody else. I have since passed it along to my brother and asked him to try it is I will report back if he has better luck than me.

A recent firmware update (April 2011) added Amazon Video on Demand, which in addition works great! It is really cool to have these services. Eventually, you get a message saying that the download has loaded and the player turns off and on again. whether or not the download fails (which did happen occur the device is not affected (good design).

[UPDATE: there seem to be two sorts of update - firmware updates seem to upgrade the disc playing features; software updates seem to upgrade the Internet access software, for premium services such as Netflix, Hulu+, or Amazon VoD. Don't blame LG for clunky interfaces on these services, as they just use the software supplied by Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon. The YouTube interface is *really* annoying - unmanageable to locate specific videos and it plays the current, teeth-grindingly irritating video-of-the-day all the time you are trying to find what you want. But that is Google's fault, not LG's.]

I was really impressed by how painless it was to set up media streaming from a PC using DLNA. A copy of Nero Home Media Server essentials was supplied on CD – I installed this, the player automatically detected my PC and staged me with a list of files I could play from the media folder. This was *so* easy! DLNA file-streaming has worked brilliantly: I only experienced difficultnesses with one, immense huge immense home movie file that stuttered and stopped. Then I came upon the USB connection on the right-front panel of the players I had been so taken with all of the streaming solutions that I overlooked the most easygoing way to play media files, which is from an external hard drive or flash drive! The BD670 played the huge file from an external hard drive with no problems. Since then, the player has played everything I have thrown at it: AVI and MKV, etc. using a huge total of dissimilar codecs. With 3 firmware updates in the month that I have owned it, I have a lot of selfassurance that it is being altered invariably to play all of the latest disc and file formats. So I am a very happy bunny indeed!

UPDATE: *** Hulu-Plus just appeared on the premium services (network access) menu, as of the July 30th software update! I can’t vouch for the quality, because I am not a member. But the demo videos seem to play just fine. Napster was removed got rid of the provider’s request”) in Dec. 2011.

UPDATE2: Had this for almost a year and I still LOVE it is This is the most fun I have ever had with video services. The quality of Blu-Ray disc and DVD playback is stunning. The streaming video services are alone worth the price of the participants I don’t for a minute regret purchasing the BD-670.

Upsides: Pandora works nicely. such a great deal of other nice internet radio options.

Netflix interface decent.

The best thing here is the SAMBA, CIFs or Windows file sharing (Whatever you call it) is nice. Works fine with Linux, works fine with MediaTomb upnp server. Couldn’t find right transcoding options, but didn’t need it is good with mp4′s ripped h.264 and does mp3. plays flip video files natively no troubles Pause, rewind, fast forward over streaming (cifs or upnp).

LCD display shows timecode when playing streams from samba or upnp.

Bought device to have single device for netflix and home media serving.

Plays mp3′s nicely.

Better than ROKU for me since it does SAMBA and UPNP for home streaming, wasn’t clear whether or not Roku did that.

Wi-FI, wired.

Oh, and it plays BD’s too, I tested one, but not my firstborn reason for purchase.

Unit stays cool, is nice and little and does what I need.

Downsides: no screensaver in pandora, fearing burn-in.

Menus kind of laggy.

No advancement meter when updating firmware. LCD suggests updating but must have separate downloading and applying advancement when installing firmware. Have seen samsung do this better with progression meter.

I’d like to add a particular item heres LG you did this in the right way — you have a sticker for help on the gimmicks Wow. I love you. I called, humane answers. No hold time. Sat, Sun, no difficultnesses I had an issue with firmware 268.E within 3 days there was a new 270-something to correct. 268.E added Amazon VOD for me and the other nifty items. help was very friendly, apologized and was pleasant to work with. I’ve never owned home electronics where they really had a support line with humans. And the humans called you back with updates on your problem!

First LG device I own… crazy props for the useful human support!

Beware buying this product and read the fine print. One would think that the warranty would be 1 year parts/labor. Instead the warranty is 1 year labor and 90 days parts. It doesn’t say this on the creative writing of recognized artisti value that is sent with the product, but on the internetlocation when you attempt to file a claim. I purchased this product in June, only to have the optical reader break a few days ago. Any time a disk is inserted the player makes a grinding noise and will not play the disk at the proper speed. This results in a sputtering playback and the soundtrack is awful.

Funny how when I purchased this product there weren’t too a heap of negative reviews, but in the past couple of months that has changed.

I purchased this machine because it could play MORE digital files than the contest contest mkv, mp4, divx/avi, etc) by way of wireless from my Vista Desktop machine or USB. This machine is veritably a step above the competition in such a great deal of regards that are principal to me.

When you accept the machine and configured the built-in wireless (I have ATT uVerse with the router in my room), it without delay does a firmware search to find the file. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes for it to reboot with the new firmware. Then you’re golden. You login to the Netflix account and and any other service and you’re good to go!

The desktop streaming takes a bit to figure out and the instructions are missing out on how to do this after you install the Nero software disc that’s supposed to hook you up. Eventually a pop-up screen user ID/password has to match your computer’s and then you have to click into it from the menu. I had to Google it to find out how to do the desktop to player set-up (apparently there’s a large total out there with the same problem!). Anyways, once set-up, the streaming is SMOOTH and FLAWLESS with large multi-GB files. Quality of the digital file seems to be upconverted as the image looks great. In addition, it works with multichannel files, so whether or not you have 5.1 in the AVI file, it’ll play back all channels. The only issue with streaming in general, (i.e. desktop or Netflix on any disc machine), is that the FW/REW is slow to employ make use seconds lag), but this is “normal” for streaming functions these days me-thinks. Mp3 songs in addition stream nicely.

The Bluray and DVD playback quality is great. Saturated colors and sharp. The DVD discs upconvert brilliantly and look almost bluray level!

I’ve read that a few users have had the player burp amongst chapter breaks on DVD/Bluray playback, but this is not the case with my participants It plays SMOOTH from beginning to end. I would suggest any individual that gets a player that does this to exchange it immediately without delay from a dissimilar different I suspect that LG uses different drives/chip from different mfgrs. and thence such a heap of might be becoming a player with frazzly parts. I wouldn’t wait for galore “oft-promised” firmware repair fix LG has told such a good deal of who have this problem) whether or not I knew other users were getting machines that work 110% (like me).

Amazingly enough, there’s nothing I can really ding this player on except the shoddy instructions on how to set up Desktop computer streaming wirelessly…which can be a PAIN(!!) whether or not you’ve never done it before.

In all, the fact that it can play a host of files from my computer and do everything else very competently sets this model lineup a step above Panasonic and the rest for its feature richness (and is a DAY and NIGHT betterment over the former buggy Samsung wireless player I had!). Remember to just do a chapter break test on your new unit and exchange whether or not it stutters on you….then, once you have nag-free player, you should be golden!

A word of counsel on firmwares. Once you have a firmware that WORKS, don’t download any new ones until you acknowledge from other users (avsforum.com) it works 110% and adds something of real value to YOU (i.e. such as Hulu+, etc). Too galore times, the newer firmware is addition by subtraction–you get something naggy to work, but then messes up something else. Just keep that in mind before looking down the barrel of the firmware gun!

I am having two issues with my BD670. First, when streaming Netflix, the device randomly freezes anywhere amidst five and 25 minutes into a movie. Second, the player randomly loses it’s wireless settings. When this happens you need to shut off the player, turn it back on, reload your wireless settings, go back and find the movie you were watching, and fast forward to where it stopped.

I called LG. They had me troubleshoot the device, and download the latest software update (which I had already done). The problem took place again.

I called LG a second time. They had me download and burn the same firmware off their website, onto a DVD, and load it onto the machine by way of that method. The problem took place again.

I called LG a third time. They told me to call Netflix. After I explained that I was not experiencing the issue on my other LG blu ray player, Sony blu ray player, laptop, or desktop, they agreed to service the unit. They only necessitated a copy of the invoice, because the warranty is 90 days on labor.

I found the invoice and called LG a fourth time. They asked whether or not I had troubleshooted with a tech over the phone. Yes. They asked whether or not I had downloaded the most recent software. Yes, twice. They asked if I had called Netflix. No, this is not a Netflix issue. They asked if I had my invoice. Yes, I purchased the unit seven weeks ago. THEN it was explained that there is a known issue with the BD670 that is incisively what is happening to my participants They do not have an ETA for the fix, and asked me to please be patient for the next firmware update.

I asked with regards to the warranty which expires (for labor) in six weeks. I was told not to worry, since they have all my notes it will be covered if the unit fails after the next software released I asked the tech why, if they knew of this issue, was I put through the four phone calls of troubleshooting. He said it was frequent procedure.

I am returning this, and buying another brand.

First of all I have a Iomega Home Media 1 TB Network Attached Storage 34337 and I’ve ripped all my DVD’s to its Lots of kids movies, TV shows, etc… and I wanted them all to be playable on my TV. After a disappointing run in with a Samsung “DLNA capable” Blu-ray player I had to find something that actually worked. While researching the failures on the Samsung device I read rave reviews when it comes to LG products, though this model was newer than any of the ones I read when it comes to I jumped on it.

So far so good. Not only does it playback the DVD rips I’ve made, it plays Blu-Ray movies beautifully without the menu lag the Samsung had.

So far I have two complaints, which prevented a 5 star review – or things around it more specifically:

1. On the box it claims this device can be controlled with an Android applications I downloaded the app the day I purchased the player, turns out the app was modified three days before I purchased my player, the previous version of the app works for everyone, the new version only works for a very little allocation of the people who’ve tried it, I haven’t found sufficient information to conclude why it works for the few people who can use it.

2. The LG app store is very missing out in available software and has issues with not being available on occasion. I have not tried Net Flix or Vudu so I can’t review those.

Just a note to all – I have yet to buy a 3D or usual HDTV so I have only tried this on my 36″ Dimatron.

I am a rather innovative tech, I can answer questions if there are any, and I do have a monitor with HD capability and a HDMI in if any individual has questions that requires me to experiment with HD, I just don’t use it as a TV since it’s 24″s is still no match for my Dimatron in the living room.

I left the useless remote control software installed on my phone so I would recognise if LG ever decided to update/fix its They did. It works great now! Nice remote control interface, I wouldn’t incisively call it precision, but it is nice and face it, if the control is in your pocket you’re fewer likely to lose it (or have a kid lose it for you) like the normal remote.

ALSO, I noticed an option, I’m not sure was there before the last firmware update or not, to allow for “streaming from network”. I enabled it, it eventually works incisively the way it should as a DMR, I sent media from my NAS drive to the Blu-Ray player using UPnPlay on my phone. I also streamed media directly from my phone to the player using iMediaShare. I’m going to play with it more later, I’m sure I can control it and even make a play list with VLC on my Linux systems, I’ll test that later Update—-

I’ve employed Amazon streaming since making my last reviews/updates. That works well. My complaint regarding the Amazon service is browsing titles sucks and is slow, there’s a decent recommendation line at the bottom, but don’t anticipate a huge tiled fast scrolling list of covers, you get a few on screen at a time, then you get to hit next and wait for another list of titles to load. If you already have a title in mind it’s great, other than as supposed or expected browse on your PC and type in the title name in the search option on your player, browsing via player sucks.

Nothing fancy, just a 500GB 2.5″ Western Digital USB HDD Fry’s had for cheap. The good news is the USB port powers it without a problem, the bad thing is I didn’t observe this unit lacks a rear USB port since so many other units have one. I have to put a cord on the front of the device which I really like to keep out of the way of doing.

After having had this thing for a while I’ve decided it’s one of the best gizmos I’ve ever bought. My daughter uses it non stop on the weekend to play back all of the Power Puff Girl and Spongebob cartoons I’ve ripped to my DLNA server. I use Amazon Prime for further and added cartoons and movies, some free, some rental. Even if the optical drive failed making it “not a Blu-Ray player” I couldn’t see myself removing it from my living room, I seldom have a disk in the thing to start out with, it’s such an aweinspiring media center in and of itself. My only complaints after broad use is when a new firmware update comes out it will fail to update multiple times before it succeeds, an aggravation really. The premium applications section has a different update than the main firmware, and it’s really slow to download/utilize BD+ content. Seriously, it took WAY to long to grab those Avatar extras off the web, but it works none the less. It’s simple and easy sufficient to operate even my dad can browse for movies on my DLNA server and watch the ones he chooses. This things worth having in your living room even if you never put an optical disk in its I’ve badly considered a Hulu+ subscription, but I’ve retained off since nearly every TV series on Hulu says “not available for TV or mobile watching at this time”. I’ll stick with Amazon.

I purchased the BD670 a month ago and so far I’ve been happy with my selection.

BD670 plays blu rays with no issues. Load time is quick. For fewer demanding discs load time from inserting disc to title screen took ~1 min and for BD Java heavy discs took about 1 min 45sec. Since I have a pioneer plasma, I’ve set playback at 24hertz with no issues. Supposedly the BD570 had stuttering issues. Picture and sound quality are excellent.

I principally bought this player though for network streaming support. So far I have played avi and mkv files with no problems. Playback is snappy and I was impressed with both picture and sounds quality. BD670 offers dual band frequencies so if your loved ones are using bandwidth, your bluray player can still stay smooth by using the other frequency (assuming your router also has dual band capabilities). Caution to heavy quicktime users, the player cannot play files with the extension MOV. MP3 and photos have played without a hitch.

Network configured took me a little while. You can either use the software that comes with the player and install Nero Home Media Server essentials or manually part folders and hope that your computers pop up correctly. I’m still working out the kinks. To log onto a computer manually, you click the computer name, a menu labeled CIFS pops up asking for user name and password. You’ll have to develop a user account on that sameness computer. Enter the same user name and password and you’ll be in.

LG Apps have been very limited thence far and a huge strike on this player right now. I was looking forward to Amazon VOD and Hulu, but they are not available yet. Supposedly there is a big update March 25th that will enable these apps, but I’m taking the rumor with a grain of salt.

Overall great player with networking capabilities. It’s ability to play a greater potpourri of files with no size limitation is the firstborn reason why I went with LG BD670 against Sony, Samsung, or Panasonic.

I have 25 years of VHS tape of family events that I was worried may be deteriorating so I necessitated something to transfer them to DVD format. I read a large total of reviews of various machines and in the long run settled on the Toshiba DR430. The low price was a large incentive. I am so glad I bought it is All I had to do was take it out of the box, connect it to my TV, connect the VCR to the Toshiba and I was on my way. No need to read the manual at all. Well, when it was done, I popped the introductory copy into another DVD player, I got nothing. No problem-I had not finalized it, which I found out when I called client assist support manual reading for me!). He was very nice, directed me to the page in the manual, then waited while I followed the instructions to make certain I had no problems. It worked perfectly. The only thing that I would alter is I would use DVD+RW discs instead of DVD+R so that I may edit the chapter names. I plan to purchase so a heap of today. I brought the firstborn copy to Thanksgiving and everybody watched the entire thing. Ha-I told them someday they would be grateful to me for videoing all those years and I was right. Even although then they were constantly waving me away.

Bought this DVR to enable me to transfer VCR tapes to DV. Although the manual does not distinctively tell you how, it is really easy to figure it out. Play the VCR using AV cables into the front of the DVR and hit record. That is how easy it was. You do have to alter the input to Front with the menu button. I have made many DV’s with no problem and happy with it is I have in addition recorded TV shows directly from the Direct TV box via the S Video jack and the quality is superb!

I am very pleased with the performance of the Toshiba DR430 DVD Recorder. I learned that you have to finalize a disc whether it is formatted in Video or VR mode whether or not you want to play it in other DVD players. The vantage of the VR mode is that you may go back and edit including “Undo Finalization”. You may reformat in either mode. The manual is very helpful but I still had to go in the Internet to get answers. Adding titles to chapters is easy to do.

Delivery was prompt and the product was well packaged.

I bought this unit to replace a failed 7 year old Sony RDR GX-300 DVD recorder. After reading all the comments, I had mixed feelings. Upon receiving the unit and setting it up, here’s what I found.

The Toshiba DR430 DVD Recorder is a solid DVD recorder. It records and plays all formats you’ll ever need (+R, +RW, -R, -RW, and others I never came across). whether or not you’re over 40, your eyes may have a hard time with the remote, but so many squinting will get over this. This remote is like all other black remotes with gray buttons.

In regards to remarks that this unit loads and formats disks slowly, that’s a bunch of nonsense. All DVD recorders take a bit of time, period. Your not playing a store bought movie.

You may record in SP, LP and EP. You’ll get dissimilar recording capacities per disk depending on quality wanted. Longer time = lower quality, fewer time = higher quality. Just like on the old VHS VCR recorders. It’s a no brainer. You set that up easily with the RECORD MODE button on the remote. I never use the timer, I always use the ONE STEP RECORD button. Each push gives you 30 minutes of recording time, then the recording stops. Want to record a 90 minute movie off your Tivo, then press the record button 3 times, its that simple.

Paid $113 with free shipping and had it in 4 days…in good condition. No dents in the box. It isn’t repacked in a larger box though, but I received mine just fine.

The video and audio inputs and outputs are on the back You may use RCA or S cable. I’m using both and it doesn’t care. There an input on the front, behind a little door, for recording (downloading) from a camcorder (or any other device).

The manual covers everything, but you have to read it to perceive it is I got going in 15 minutes with the QUICK START sheet (4 pgs). One necessary thing to remember, after you make your recording on a disk, you have to FINALIZE it, so it will play on other DVD players. Remember to read up on FINALIZE in the manual, and you ought to have no problems.

The menus are very basic, particularly the TITLE EDIT button, but simple is good. My earlier Sony DVD recorder took some time to get familiar with. This one is alot easier. A recommended buy.

I purchased this digital video recorder because the disc burning function (only) of my Panasonic DMR-E80H (video hard disc recorder with internal dubbing to DVDs) stopped functioning. The Toshiba DR430 works fine for dubbing from the hard disc recorder for normal NTSC video. Images are sharp, and there is no color shift or contrast loss. I have not tried using the HDMI up-sampled output, only the normal NTSC analog video feed.

The DVD menu function is as basic as they come. Just a box with the small DVD title in plain text.

My 3-year old Panasonic provided (9) choices of title screens, all of which were much nicer looking than the ultra plain one on the Toshiba.

The unit has a USB port on the front panel, which will only work with a flash drive (no computer USB connection). Toshiba states that this will work with FAT16 and FAT32 formatted drives. Mine only works whether or not the drive is formatted to FAT16. Virtually no other selective information is supplied for the use of this USB input. I found by experimentation that for a file to be recognized, it must be in the root directory. It won’t be found if it’s in a folder. I’d love to be competent to record a slide show of images that are on a flash drive, but have no idea how to do this, or if it’s even possible, although the manual implies that it might be. Plugging in a flash drive that holds JPEG image files displays the initial one, but does not seem to grant recording a slide show to DVD. Again, the manual is useless.

Basic functions are easy to achieve, but the owner’s manual is very poorly organized. Many functions are not cited in the table of contents, and there is no index at all. I’m still attempting to figure out how to place “Chapter” markers on my DVDs. The manual implies that this can be done for the duration of the finalization process, but when I try, the “Place Chapter Marker” function is not available (only Titling).

Bottom line: An inexpensive, very basic, tunerless DVD recorder with a very poor owner’s manual.

Come on, Toshiba, hire a technical writer and publish a coherent manual for this productions

I’m very pleased with the Toshiba DR430 performance. One major reason for the selection is the inclusion of S-video connectors for input and output. So many of the new recorders have HDMI or video only. I wanted to convert a number of my VHS tapes to disc and the S-video capability of the DR430 was one of the very few on the current market that still have the S-video feature, so common on VHS players. I as well appreciate the ability to pause for the duration of record (to bypass commercials or other material) not wanted on the disc. All-in-all, a swell choice for me and everything works as specified.

When I thought of dvd recorders I always thought Panasonic but when I saw the price difference I went with the toshiba and am glad I did. it records virtually anything but a pre-recorded dvd,but I am sure none will due to copy guard.so if you want a dvd recorder that works good and won’t bust your budget the toshiba dr430 is a good choices

Although the player has several functions (for example, editing and creating playlists), the function I use virtually wholly is creating a DVD from television shows previously recorded on my Directv DVR. With the exception of finalizing the disc (a procedure required if the disc is to be played on a dissimilar DVD player) the recording routine is very simple and straightforward. Finalizing is not hard, but it did require me to actually read the instruction manual before I could accomplish the task. The only concern I have with regards to this product is the open/close motor for the disc tray. The motor is not as smooth as other DVD participants I’ve used, which makes me wonder how long the motor will last.

In short, I love this machine. It’s simple, straightforward, and inexpensive.

Worked utterly out of the box. My laptop has HDMI output and I use this converter to connect audio/video from the laptop to an older TV set (without HDMI) or a recording devices Unlike other reviewers, my shipment did not include an HDMI cable, but other important cables were included. Would unquestionably order from this provider again.

Bought this product to use with my Apple TV since I have an old CRT TV and not the new LCD TVs that have HD. The converter worked absolutely and my TV is 20 years old!!! Needless to say I’m very happy that it brought life to my old TV. Had to do galore adjusting but the view is excellent for a CRT and the sound is swell too. I have no complaints and might buy another one whether or not I want to do the same set-up in my bed room. If you’re exceedingly fussy about picture quality, in particular resolution, you might want to look elsewhere(and most likely recompense closer to $200) but for the price this does the job and gives you a 480i SD output where it might not be available otherwise.

I’m holding mine!

I necessitated an adapter to connect our laptop that has a HDMI output to our old 35″ tube Television. This works outstanding for Netflix and HULU on a TV that was made long before anything was streaming on the internet. Setup was a breeze, i was using rca outputs so i made certain that the switch was in the right position and i switched it from PAL and voila introductory try worked great. BTW this may be unfeigned with all laptops, but with our Dell Vostro it works best whether or not you have the TV and adapter on before you plug the HDMI cable into the laptop, whether or not it is on, then the laptop adapts to the right solution mechanically and the picture looks great. i didn’t have the TV on firstborn the laptop had a harder time with the difference in resolutions.)

I bought this to play my Motorola Droid X videos (HD 720p) on my older JVC television. When I initial connected it, I could see that the images was being sent but the screen was continously rolling. I tried dissimilar HDMI settings on my Droid with no luck and I was ready to give up and return it is Then I noticed that by default the strategy was set to PAL (European video standard)instead of NTSC (U.S video standard). I flipped the switch on the front to NTSC and it now works perfectly. A short one-page comprehensible statement of the switches would have helped, but I’m very happy with the unit now.

This box will let you take a general 1080i 16:9 signal from an HDMI port, feed it through the box where it comes out as an anamorphic signal which when fed into a DVD recorder with S-Video input at 480i will make a rather good widescreen DVD. The item did just arrive, and does work to connect Apple TV to an older television – but with a cost. The trade off if that the widescreen image is compressed to older tube size making everything look a little squished. had not noticed that fact on others remarks initially ’til I came back and looked again.) There doesn’t appear to be any option for proportion settings. If there were a widescreen/ratio setting I’d give this item more stars.

So, if you do not mind looking at movie rentals, and everything really, a little squished it ought to work well. If you’re not certain you’d take delight in watching all your movies, etc., compressed, then you may want to consider look at note: if you are capable to modify your tv mode to widescreen, or run it through a devise that can remunerate like galore DVD players, that might be an substitute to the problem; we have not had success there yet.) I needed this to support stream/record ps3 and xbox360 games and tournaments. It comes with one composite RCA cable with stereo audio and one s-video cable for output and one HDMI cable for input. It has a switch to select either composite or s-video, both wont work at the same time. You can in addition select NTSC or PAL video via another switch.

Make sure that you only get this if you want to get video and audio from and hdmi source to a send to a TV/Projector/ recording equipment and only has composite/s-video and stereo audio input. And not the other way around. Build quality is good and this signal is strong and clear and has no issues with ps3 HDCP.

Many TV’s like in hotels/motels still have TV’s with no HDMI in . . . most have only with the red, white and yellow RCA in or S-Video in type connections. So this device is great if you want to use Sling Box or stream Netflix to a full size TV screen.

I bought this for a Laptop’s HDMI out to stream sling Box and to see if it would as well stream Netflix through my HDMI Micro out on my new Samsung Droid Charge smart phone. This powered converter changes the HDMI signal to analog using either S-video or the 3 red, white and yellow RCA connections on TV’s like an older home TV or like when in a Hotel/Motel that does not have an HDMI port in.

But so far I found that this unit “DOES NOT WORK” with Samsung’s newer 4G Droid Charge. It “DOES” work for an HDMI out of a laptop, so I’m keeping it to use with a future new laptop. Now, most newer laptops only come with HDMI out, instead of those round TV monitor out connection that I applied to use a simple “non powered” cable that converts the laptop’s signal over to RCA’s connections, so I could watch Sling Box on a full sized TV screen or stream Netflix movies and TV series..

“IT MAY WORK YET” on my Droid in near future after Samsung updates the OS to Gingerbread, which they just did for the older 4G Droid Thunderbolt.

These “powered” converters work well, but seems they can’t convert my Samsung Droid Charges signal just yet for such a good deal of reason.

If anybody buys one off Amazon, the price fluctuates week in and week out amidst $43 and $55. so just hold off a few days for the price to drop again if you are looking to buy one for use with a new laptop.

WHATEVER YOU DO . . . “DO NOT” purchase one of these powered converters from a re-seller named . . . “Electronics Pro”. I just had a bad experience in that he does not list where he is shipping out of like all the other places do (the rest ship from CA, NY, NJ etc). His feedback was 96%, because he ships out of “HONG KONG” (but does not tell you this) which takes assorted weeks. I get other items from re-sellers, in like 3 days. I should have believed his negative feedback . . . BEFORE I purchased. There were various other complaints where humans were stuck sending the unit back to “Hong Kong “at their expense”!

Lastly, Electronics Pro sends items by registered mail (which they do not mention this either) or I would have it shipped to my office. It tracks from Hong Kong and then switches over to UPS over then again to U.S. mail (two of the worst delivery services in the earth have now teamed up to work together, go figure) and then USPS leaves a slip at your house to sign, which adds on yet another 3 days to deliver.

Always beware of buying from an Amazon re-seller, I’ve had not one thing but grief with “most” of them.

I purchased this replacement/refund policy for my new Epson 8350 projector because of its iron-clad guarantee that: 1)one would NOT have to pays for shipping whether or not necessary, 2) substitute components would not be third party or refurbished, 3) the projector bulb is covered against failure, and 4)coverage starts on the day you accept the item.

Instead, when you really receive the policy (in an email) and get to read it over carefully cautiously one really must ought to I found a long list of exclusions, including non-coverage on “consumer substitute parts” ; the projector bulb is NOT covered against failure, replacement parts can be third party (non-manufacturer) or refurbished or rebuilt – not NEW, OEM as described on amazon, and, if the projector is to be replaced “SQUARE TRADE” can do so with a “like” model or a refurbished model – their choices Also, the proprietor is responsible for shipping charges.

After purchasing this warranty, I obtained a “courtesy” call from SquareTrade. I explained to them that I bought a 4 year warranty but their literature for the product covered, a TV projection bulb, stated that it could only be covered for 3 years. I bought a GPS off of eBay almost 2 years ago. I remunerated $20 for 2 years insurance from Square Trade. After 20 months, my GPS screen failed and I registered a claim with Square Trade. I purchased a Square Trade Warranty for a flat panel TV that I bought online when the unit failed after 4 months I contacted Square Trade, they asked for a receipt of buy which I provided.

They then instructed me to have the unit repaired by a certified technician of my choosing and email them a copy of the bill which I did. Two days later they transposed the funds to my paypal account just like they had advertised.

Overall I rate their performance as excellent.

I haven’t bought this yet: it is in my shopping cart and I will likely buy it.

They at last paid, but it was NOT an easy or pleasant process. And BE SURE to read the full contract before you buy.

Squaretrade is NOT required to pays you the “purchase” pricey Their contract has many qualifiers such as “in most cases” and “up to the buy price.” whether or not they don’t fix it or replace with a refurbished unit (that’s right, and not necessarily manufacturer refurbished), they are only required to compensate you the substitute value AT THE TIME OF THE CLAIM. Four years down the road the “replacement” value of your now virtually obsolete TV will be a LOT less. They may as well “replace the Product with a new, rebuilt or refurbished product of equal or similar features and functionality.” That’s a direct quote from one of my Squaretrade contracts.

If it fails 3-4 years from now, it is doubtful you will get your buy price to buy a new one with all the latest features. Squaretrade may replace it with the then-current LOW-END product, even a refurbished one, or just compensate you to buy such a products Of course it would have features equivalent to or better than your 3-4 year old TV, but surely not what you could have gotten whether or not they had refunded your original purchase highpriced Squaretrade gains from technological advances and you lose.

- There is a ‘no lemon’ provision in the agreement which states that if the same item is repaired 3 times for the same defect within a year they will replace your TV with an equivalent product, at which time the warranty coverage ends – will not cover the replacement.

- If your TV is damaged by a power surge and you had a power surge protector they may ask you to send it over to them for examination (probably to see if they can get such a heap of money from the power surge protector manufacturer).

- Any time we are talking about replacements, they reserve the right to ask for the defective item to be sent to them and they will provide the box and the shipping label.

- They will aid arrange for in-house repairs and remunerate the mend company directly.

- They do not cover scratches or cracks.

- They do not cover any harm caused by you doing terrible things to your TV – like leaving it out in the rain.

- There is no deductible.
